Telephone service

untitled

Our doctors have been struggling to cope with escalating demand for phone contact in recent years.

We will no longer routinely offer “telephone consultations”.

Reception staff will try to resolve your problem directly or may involve appropriate third parties, eg Practice Nurse, District Nurse, Midwife or local Pharmacist. If you still need to speak to the doctor, you can leave the doctor a “telephone message”. The doctor will read and respond to them all, but it may not result in a direct conversation or contact the same day. Urgent matters are not appropriate for telephone messages.

Our reception staff do their best to try and help you and us. Please do not put them under undue pressure. Briefly, don’t make unreasonable demands, make sure you provide a suitable contact number and answer your phone!

Flu updates

As of 1st November, over 1000 of you have attended the practice for your annual flu jag! We’re now nearing the end of our vaccination programme but there’s still time to come along if you’ve still not been vaccinated. We’ll be having a final open clinic on TUESDAY 12th NOVEMBER between 2pm-4pm.  If you’re aged over 65, or under 65 with a long-term chronic illness, please pop along on this afternoon. No appointment necessary.

Our child flu clinics for those aged 2-5 years old have been slightly delayed due to a supply issue with the vaccines. We now have a new batch in stock and so a full-day clinic has been arranged for 19th November. If you’ve received a letter from the health board (or ourselves) inviting your child for this nasal vaccine, please call the practice as soon as possible and make an appointment for the 19th November to ensure your child is protected as we head into winter.

FLU CLINICS!

It’s that time again – our flu clinics will run every day from 7th-11th October. Please call the practice to make an appointment.

Flu vaccinations are available for everyone over 65. If you are under 65 and suffer from a chronic disease (such as diabetes, heart disease or COPD), we will text or letter you to invite you to make an appointment.

If you are unable to make these dates, we will have a catch-up clinic available at the end of October. Please do not make GP or nurse appointments just for a flu jag.

We will also be offering the nasal vaccination to all children aged 2-5 (not yet in school). There has been a delay in the supply of these vaccinations. We will advise patients when we are able to put on the clinics. Please check back for updates.
